Eight Bit Machine

Founded in 2013, Eight Bit Machine transports the zeitgeist of the 'early digital age' to the 21st century. Each song is a multimedia project not limited to music, but integrating historical vocal and video footage, giving each project a documentary feel to it.

Eight Bit Machine's musical style contains elements from different Electronica subgenres, ranging from Breakbeats to Trip Hop.

80s Child (Single)

80s Child was the first single by Eight Bit Machine. Musically 80s Child is a potpourri of influences - it combines breakbeats, an Acid baseline and a catchy hymn-like hook which is inspired by a tune from the Commodore 64 computer game 'International Karate'.

The corresponding fast-paced music video features countless footage from 80s music videos, movies, computer games and even the famous Reagan speech ('Mr Gorbachev - tear down this wall!'). The copyrighted material used in '80s Child' precludes a commercial distribution so that the song is made available for free download on Eight Bit Machine's SoundCloud page.

Radio Active Europe (Single)

Radio Active Europethe second single by Eight Bit Machine, recycles historic news reports on the 1986 nuclear distaster of Chernobyl in a dramatic Trip Hop track. The news reports are skillfully synched with the plodding beat; the music blends classical and electronic instruments creating a unique style altogether.

While in the song and video deal with the aftermath of a nuclear disaster it criticises how people try to make profit of other people's misery.

'Radio Active Europe' is available on all major music platforms and internet radios.
